An update is now available for WipEout HD which supposedly cures the `no more than 50 friends` limit which rendered the title`s online capabilities useless unless you had less than 50 friends – and even went as far as locking up and crashing the PS3. Fingers crossed that this cures the problem.

Have you got quite a full PSN Buddy list? If so you may want to consider trimming it down if you wish to play WipEout HD online. A bizarre bug has been found which causes PS3s to freeze and lock up if you try to play the game online when you have a sizeable buddy list.

Having cut my list down to 60 before installing WipEout I have not experienced any problems with the title which is brought bang up to date with the most beautiful HD graphics. Let`s hope a patch is released soon to cure this annoying niggle.

Sony beta testers are being spoilt for choice: last week LittleBigPlanet codes went out, now Killzone 2 is demanding play time. It`s a tough job but somebody`s got to do it

It would  appear that yesterday`s accidental release was in fact a teaser for today. Life with PlayStation is indeed really live now, even here in Europe. Life with PlayStation is now available for download by selecting the Folding@home icon under “Network” on the XMB, which prompts the application to upgrade.

And why not have your favorite soundtrack playing in the background while you go through your morning ritual (just think, no TV commercials and teasers to find out if you need to bring an umbrella to work)? If you happen to live on a certain major Western continent you may have Sony`s new service waiting for you. Reports are coming in that once you try to load Folding@Home it prompts an update which gives access to the new service from Sony. This however has not arrived here in good old Blighty yet - more if and when it does

Update: it would appear that the temporary availability of Life with PlayStation was a mistake and the service has now been taken offline. Let`s hope it`s a sign that it is close to being ready for mass release
