MS Society Fundraiser

ms_logoAs a fellow MS sufferer I can appreciate the good work carried out by the MS Society and as such I have decided to start a fundraiser on this blog. My aim is to reach £500 in donations over the course of the next 12 months. Ambitious, probably, but definitely worth doing as this great charity deserves all the support it can get

The MS Society is the UK’s largest charity for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

The Society funds MS research, runs respite care centres, provides grants (financial assistance), education and training on MS. It produces numerous publications on MS and runs a freephone specialist helpline

Multiple Sclerosis is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults. Around 85,000 people in the UK have MS.

MS is the result of damage to myelin - a protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres of the central nervous system.

When myelin is damaged, this interferes with messages between the brain and other parts of the body.

For some people, MS is characterised by periods of relapse and remission while for others it has a progressive pattern. For everyone, it makes life unpredictable.

If you would like to learn more about MS and the MS Society click here

To donate visit the JustGiving link in the menu to the right.

Rest assured that all contributions go to the MS Society, not a penny goes to me or this blog.

Thankyou in advance for your support
